Join us at 6 p.m. for a holiday story from special guest Mayor Beamish. Santa arrives at 6:30 p.m., the Riverside Bell Choir will perform at 6:45 p.m.; there will be refreshments, a kids craft, and more!
The north entrance (parking lot entrance) is now closed for construction. During this time, the library can be accessed through the West Main Street entrance. There is a ramp for wheelchair and stroller access. The Friends of the Library will not be accepting book donations while their room is closed off during construction. For your convenience, there is a temporary outside book drop on the parking lot side of the library. We thank you for your patience!
Looking for a special gift for someone on your shopping list? Consider giving the gift of reading by donating to the library in honor of a loved one or friend. For a donation of $25, the library will purchase a new children's or adult book (your choice) which will be added to the library's collection. Books can be personalized with a bookplate if requested. The library is a 501c3 and donations are tax-deductible. With your donation, please include your name and phone number and whether or not you want a bookplate on your item. For more information, call Erin Scott at 937-339-0502, ext. 117.
There are more than 3,300 Miami County children enrolled in your community reading program, Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. The program provides books by mail each month to all enrolled children in Miami County from birth to age 5. A $25 donation will provide 12 books to one child for a year. A $125 donation will fund all five years of the program for a child, for a total of 60 books. Individual and corporate sponsorships are needed to keep this program active. Please consider donating by sending a check to the library with Imagination Library in the memo line.
As one parent said: "My son never let me read to him. He wanted nothing to do with books until he started getting his books in the mail from Imagination Library. Now every month when he sees his new book in the mailbox he can't wait to get it inside & look at it. He loves for me to read to him now & he's learning letters and words from reading! We love Imagination Library!"
